Once the estimator has visited you should expect to receive your written quotation by post/email within 3 days.

03  What are the quotes based on?

We treat each removal quote individually and base the price on your specific needs, these include: volume of your belongings to be moved, the distance you are moving, complexity of move (which floor etc.), estimated time to complete the job, size of vehicle required and number of men needed.

04  What do removal costs include?

Kristof Removals quotes are tailored to your needs. Our basic removal service supplies you with a removal van/lorry with crew and includes travelling, but you may choose extra services such as storage or packing service too.

05  Will my move be insured?

Yes. Throughout every move we take great care in handling your possessions and to give you extra piece of mind, our insurance cover is free with every move. During your removal, your goods will be insured up to £25,000. Full details are in our Terms and Conditions. If you require any extra cover, this can be arranged as well.

06  How much notice do I need to give to book my removal?

As soon as you have a confirmed moving date then please book your removal in with us.

Please always try to give as much notice as possible. We carry out short notice removals and will do all we can to accommodate you but ideally 7-14 days notice can be required to secure a booking.

07  Can you undertake moves over the weekend?

Of course we can. All the work we do is tailored around your unique and specific requirements. Our vehicles are in operation 7 days a week; short notice bookings are also available. We offer this service for both domestic and commercial moves, at no extra cost.

08  At what time will you arrive on moving day?

We will normally arrive between 8am - 9am and look to be loaded by lunchtime. This allows sufficient time for keys to be exchanged and collected.  Depending on the type and distance of the removal this is always subject to change, but you will have agreed all of this with the office staff prior to your booking.

Our standard practice is to call all our customers the day before the big day to confirm arrangements and to exchange any necessary last-minute information.

09  How do I pay for my removals?

To book your move with Kristof Removals all you need to do is call our office and pay a small deposit to secure preferred date. When this is done you will then receive confirmation of your move. Any outstanding balances are due, in full, on completion.

To pay deposit: Call us on 01427 238414 with your quote reference number and your debit or credit card to hand or Pay Securely Online with a credit/debit card or PayPal;

Final payment: Unless otherwise agreed, final payment is required by Cash or Debit/Credit Card immediately on the completion of your job. We have mobile card machines on board each of our vehicles meaning a safe and secure payment. Sorry but we no longer accept cheques as a final payment.

10  How much space do I need to leave outside my property for  parking on removal day?

Having parking space for our vans is vital! Our 8.5 tonne lorry will require about 15 metres - 50 feet of allocated space. If parking is difficult outside your property or there are parking restrictions (e.g. double yellow line), you will need to contact your local council and organise a parking suspension. Please let us know about any difficult points of access and/or strict parking regulations. The more information we have, the more we will be able to prepare and the more time you will save yourself on moving day.

We would also suggest letting your neighbours know in advance to avoid any inconvenience to them.

11  How do I pack my hanging clothes?

You do not have to. On the day of the move our team will supply hanging garment boxes fitted with a rail. These boxes are perfect for easily transporting your clothes as they hang so that your important clothing can remain crease free during the move. Portable wardrobes boxes are loaned to you free of charge for every removal booked with us.

12  Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Yes, but we need to know in advance. Our staff will carry out the dismantling and reassembly as agreed. It is essential that you let us know what is required at the quotation stage to allow for the necessary time, equipment and man power to be provided.

If you are dismantling the furniture yourself, then all items needing dismantling are expected to be taken apart and ready to move prior to our arrival.

13  Do you offer a professional packing service?

We certainly do! Our fragile & non-fragile packing service can make the arduous job of moving far easier. Our skilled team will take great care of all of your possessions. The full packing service is often carried out the day previous to removal.

14  Can I pack myself? Do you supply packing materials?

Yes, if you decide to do your own packing we will be delighted to offer you a range of packing materials to make the task easier, including: cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, roll tape and tissue wrapping paper. These will be delivered out to you at a time of your choosing prior to the removal.  Portable wardrobe boxes, mattress covers and other such materials will be carried by the removal crew.

15  Does my furniture get placed to my requirements?

Yes, we will unpack in your new home and place the furniture and boxes in the rooms of your choice.

16  Should I unpack my chest of drawers?

Self-assembly furniture does not respond well to moving so this type of furniture should be completely empty before removal. Light-weight items such as clothing, bedding etc. may be left inside sturdier furniture. Any heavy or breakable items such as books or perfumes should always be removed.

17  What do I have to do on moving day?

When Kristof Removals crew arrive and introduce themselves the team leader will ask you to show him around the property so that he can direct his team and so that you can point out any items for special care or which items are not to be moved. Once the crew has finished packing and loading it will then be your responsibility to check that everything has been removed that you wish to be. At your new property the team will again request a tour of the property to identify the layout of the house and see exactly where you require your belongings to be located. Before your team leave, they will walk you through your new home to ensure that all effects are in their correct place and their work is finished before they leave you to enjoy your new home.
